Prayers of Thanksgiving for Healing

Our Mourning Turned to Dancing
For your faithfulness, O Lord, we give you humble and heartfelt thanks. Though our path was often dark and foreboding, yet, you have led us safely back home to you where we are now feasting at your banquet of delights and riches. You have cast off our garments of mourning that hung heavy on us and have instead robed us with the garments of joy and exaltation. You have turned our mourning into dancing. We shall proclaim the greatness of your goodness and love to all. Amen.

Though the journey has been long and difficult, you have been faithful, gentle Savior, to lead us back to you. Where once was only fragmentation and pain, you have brought healing and wholeness. Where once was only confusion and despair, you brought healing calm and comfort. Where was once only doubt and confusion, you have brought new and strengthened faith. Where was once only mourning and sorrow, you have brought new joy and hope. You have raised us up as we were sinking down to the grave and not only simply restored us to life but to new, resurrected life. We will praise you and exalt you for ever. Amen.

Thanksgiving for a Beginning of Recovery
O Lord, your compassions never fail and your mercies are new every morning: We give you thanks for giving our brother/sister N. both relief from pain and hope of health renewed. Continue in him/her, we pray, the good work you have begun; that he/she, daily increasing in bodily strength, and rejoicing in your goodness, may so order his/her life and conduct that he/she may always think and do those things that please you; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

For the Restoration of Health
Almighty God and heavenly Father, we give thee humble thanks because thou hast been graciously pleased to deliver from his sickness thy servant N., in whose behalf we bless and praise thy Name. Grant, O gracious Father, that he, through thy help, may live in this world according to thy will, and also be partaker of everlasting glory in the life to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The General Thanksgiving
Almighty God, Father of all mercies,
we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks
for all your goodness and loving kindness
to us and to all whom you have made.
We bless you for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies,
that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your
    praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before you
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
