Prayers for The Healing of our Souls

Renewal of Our Baptism
In the waters of baptism, we were buried with you, O Christ in your death and raised to new, resurrected life. Yet all too often we have failed to walk in this newness of life. Remind us anew of our baptismal vows and rekindle within us the grace of our baptism. May we seek to make a fresh start this very day to live more deeply and more fully into our baptism and, thus, into the life with you as you have promised. Grant this for the sake of your love. Amen.
 
Listening for the Voice of God
Father, in the beginning you spoke your gentle, yet powerful voice into the void and chaos and brought forth new life and created all that is. You continue to speak to us in the silent, still places of our own lives, ever calling us to new life. Yet we have grown deaf to your call. We no longer know how to recognize your voice in holy Scriptures, in our world, in our family and friends and in our own lives. We have hardened our hearts and our love for you has grown cold. Heal the deafened ears of our hearts and give us hearts of flesh to hear and heed your call. Tune the ears of our hearts to the voice of the Beloved calling us to come home to you and to the life you offer. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
 
Heal Our Wounded Souls
O Christ, you came to bring healing and wholeness not just to our physical bodies but even to our very souls. But sometimes such wholeness seems elusive. Rather we experience the deep fragmentation of our lives. Yet we yearn to be whole. You promised that you came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. We yearn for such life. Gentle healer and physician of our souls, touch our woundedness with your healing balm and make us whole. In your Name we pray. Amen.
